Stationery is my best friend

Level 3 stationery addict here. I had hoped to write to you all and share things other than my spending habits. Alas, my addiction to stationery is realer than anything else that I could write… She sighs *feigning a sad expression, yet secretly filled with delight* (I should be an actress.)

Let’s get started shall we?

This weekend I went to the Portobello Markets in London. It’s the first time I’d ever been and I was excited to see what the hype was about. As I walked from the top of the market, I was met by a flood of tourists snapping pictures of this, that and the other. It wasn’t until I slowed down my pace, I began to take in all the things that they were seeing, and it was at that point that I just had to get my camera out too. (Jumping onto the tourist bandwagon.)

Snap, snap, snap… here’s my gallery!

My first stop was at a postal stall. There was a gentleman who was selling stamps and postcards. (*I can hear the excitement from my penpals.*) He had a cool stash of postcards, some which were blank and some which had been sent and received! There were lots of postcards addressed to the same person who once lived in Hove. (Google it, as I have no idea where it is.)

I picked up two of the used postcards, which I think were both sent from America or Canada. One was written in English and one was in French. I can’t wait to share these with a lucky penpal or two!

I later found a second stall, which sold a random mix of things. The lady was selling cute children’s-book-illustration-style postcards at 2 for £1 and then all the other postcards were 7 for £1! Bargain!!! I rifled through those and picked up the ones pictured above. I spy the Queen looking so cute  😀 I adore our Royal Family (though my knowledge is rather limited on the subject.)

My next purchase was this incredible ‘S’ stamp at only £4! I was really happy with this.

After visiting Portobello Markets, I headed to the land of the common high street stores within a mall called Westfield. I think they have Westfields all over the globe. There are hundreds of different popular stores within the shopping centre. Though this next part of my haul takes place in M&S aka Marks and Spencer.

M&S originally began as a market stall in the city of Leeds (in north England.) Over many many years it’s grown into an a huge company, which sells great quality own brand items. They sell things from food, to clothes, homeware and now they even have Stationery! When I stumbled upon the range I was blown away! Everything was perfect and everything was pretty, so so pretty.

Here we have decoration tape, which is like the PLUS Deco Rush Decoration Tape, rolling stamp thingys, a letter writing set and some stickers! Amazing  <3

Maybe if the snail mail gods approve, then perhaps you’ll find one on it’s way to you!

Hello! Oh I am SO envious of your haul, being a stationery addict as well! I have never been to a market such as this – love your phrase “so pretty, so, so pretty” I am like this as well. My favourite place is WH Smith, followed closely – if not parallel to, The Works. If ever myself and hubby go anywhere, and I get lost, he always heads straight to the nearest stationery shop! (Also well done on the Monday post challenge, I’m right behind you! 😀 )

Ooo I didn’t realise you’re from the UK, where about? I love WHSmith but find it pricey at times. I haven’t been to the Works in years, I will have to check it out! P.s. Poundland recently had some great bit and bobs for crafting!

I’m in Scotland 🙂 And yes, Poundland has really caught up with us crafters, haha! The stuff isn’t that bad either (you know how Poundland is a bit…erm….cheap and nasty sometimes, lol)

Lol very true! My local store had some stuff that Hobby Craft sell at the minute, so I was pleasantly surprised! It’s worth taking a peak sometimes 😀 Same goes for home bargains!
