PrePerfection Challenge (Watercolours) – Challenge 2: Shapes!
The watercolours were out twice for this challenge and I ended up with 6 pieces! I was struggling to make an image that I was satisfied with, but I think I finally got there. This challenge was all about shapes. I started with something basic and then realised I hated the colour combination. I then tried something far more wild and colourful (using similar colours from the first challenge) but then I ended up ruining that too, by adding by blocks of ugly colour. I realised I liked the spaces between shapes, as they contributed to the image as much as the shapes of colour did. I tried to fix that piece by cutting bits out but it didn’t really work out, so I gave up for that day.
Day 2 started with the pink and blue shapes image. I kinda reminds me of a variation of the Instagram logo. Then I went onto the pig / zebra / chicken creature, followed by the green gorilla?! Finally I decided to have one last go and try to create something like piece number 2 (sadly this one ended up a bit boring for me.)
By the time evening had turned to night, my sister came up and told me she like the green gorilla the best (that’s what she named him.) She thought it would make a good card for my 14ish year old cousin.
Can’t wait to work on Challenge 3!
If I’m honest, I’m quite pleased with the standard of my work so far. I was expecting it to be much worse. Let’s hope I get even better over this challenge, though I’m not aiming for perfection. 🙂
